Pro Pitch Impeller
The new R&D Pro Pitch Impellors developed specifically for the new 2008 Yamaha FZR are here! The Yamaha FZR’s 1.8 liter engine platform has low ceiling rev limiter functions that offer an ultra soft cut at 7750 RPM . The rev limiter functions on the new FZR are almost like traction control, a rev limiter that you almost do not feel in rough water conditions. Engine performance modifications to the FZR add great power and speed, however, peak engine rpm’s must be kept down around 7650 – 7700 rpm. R&D offers a complete custom line of impellor pitch combinations that will keep the engine rpm’s in check allowing power adding bolt on air filter, intake manifold, intercooler, supercharger, and exhaust kits, and performance modifications. R&D has the power adders and the perfect impellor packages to keep the power hooked up. More power to pull a taller prop equals more acceleration and top speed performance.

FZR / SHO High Performance ECU Reprogramming Services
R&D is proud to announce the soon to be released Yamaha FZR and SHO ECU reprogramming services. There has been a year of speculation and long awaited anticipation of these services becoming available. The research and development team at R&D have been testing and developing ECU programs to allow a range of performance levels to be reached for the recreational enthusiasts who are not interested in a full standalone aftermarket ECU. Entry-level programs will provide the enjoyment of a raised RPM limit setting as well as the internal boost limiter being either removed or raised. Ignition timing will be altered to safe performance levels that will allow the use of 91 octane pump gasoline. There will be several initial performance levels to chose from that will work with stock or R&D C1 and C3 Monster Wheels. Programs offered will be recreational performance tuned to safe AFR values, and can be further custom tuned with the R&D Powershot(Richened) to accommodate additional boost levels. With the purchase of the R&D ECU Reprogramming Service, customers who have previously purchased an R&D Powershot Fuel Control Unit can send it in along with their ECU to R&D for free re-programming, to allow custom fuel tuning to work with the new ECU Programs. For best results, we recommend upgrading and using the Powershot for custom fuel fine-tuning. Fuel tuning or AFR conditions should always be checked and verified, as values can be slightly different from one craft to another. Higher performing programs are also under development and will be announced through updates on the R&D web site. Stay tuned. R&D strongly suggests that AFR tuning be periodically verified using an Innovate LM1 or LC1 logging kit also available from R&D.
